Specialist in mathematics education, game-based learning and curriculum development

Robin is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychology and Cognitive Sciences at Ashoka University. He is a leader in EdTech research, with several years of international experience in conceptualizing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs. He has expertise in partnerships and multidisciplinary projects in digital learning, especially in the Global South. He identifies as a learning scientist and a creator of science-based Digital Learning Environments (DLEs). He studies the effects of these environments on children’s math attitudes and academic achievement. He has developed a range of curriculum guides, educator toolkits, and MOOCs on educational games for UNESCO MGIEP. He led and co-authored the UNESCO guidelines on digital learning, a set of principles for ethical and responsible development of DLEs aligned with UNESCO’s framework on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and social-emotional learning (SEL). Robin has also worked in the videogame and EdTech industry. He developed the world’s first, interactive, gaming curriculum guides for teachers. These guides aim to support educators’ adoption of the immersive Discovery Tour video games by Ubisoft
