We are here to ensure that EdTech is educational
EdTech needs to be of high quality to make a positive impact on learning and society. Ensuring quality through various regulations helps avoid harm, but these principles alone do not enhance the quality of EdTech use or design. Our goal is to improve EdTech quality because we believe EdTech is valuable only if it demonstrably has positive impact on education.
We aim to address quality by integrating learning sciences and participatory research and design (R&D) with EdTech innovation, mobilizing academia-industry partnerships across disciplines, domain expertise and geographical borders. We have advanced the Research, Practice and Design model in EdTech since 2016.
Our goal is to collaborate and create the highest quality EdTech possible with researchers from multiple disciplines, teachers/practitioners and the EdTech industry. Ultimately, it is about the learners, particularly the most marginalized and disadvantaged children, who are most harmed by poor-quality technology. Ensuring high-quality EdTech is crucial to providing them with the best educational opportunities. We do not provide template-based studies or paid-for confirmation that a tool works - research integrity is core to our success.
