International science, standards and certifications-aligned research support

The International Centre for EdTech Impact has a network of qualified and vetted EdTech researchers working across the globe to support various EdTech companies with learning and education impact.

We provide various research services based on latest learning sciences and international standards of evidence to EdTech companies aiming to secure international certification, infuse learning sciences into their product, obtain independent verification of their evidence base, or receive support with their theory of change and iterative logic model.

Our PhD-qualified, trained researchers will ensure alignment with the latest learning sciences, international certifications and holistic impact approaches that aim to support positive outcomes for learners.

Through partnerships with ISTE or EdTech Teacher, we provide support for certifications and make your product ready for the US market.

We provide bespoke research studies tailored to the question at hand, carefully selecting methodologies that best fit the specific research needs, whether quantitative or qualitative, ranging from rigorous RCTs to in-depth ethnographic studies. Through our network of 1,200 learning scientists, we are able to precisely match the most relevant research experts to each edtech organisation, enabling high-quality evidence generation and truly accelerating their impact.

ESSA-aligned research services

For K12 EdTech companies in pursuit of ESSA-compliant certification, we offers research assistance to execute studies or product evaluations in collaboration with our international partners, including LXD Research, LearnPlatform by Instructure and Digital Promise. 50% subsidy from the Jacobs Foundation is available for eligible companies.

Independent verification of impact

Companies aiming for a particular certification, badge or national standard of evidence often need support in selecting the right approach and reviewing the evidence they have already gathered. Our researchers review the evidence you gathered in light of international standards and certification models and provide a comprehensive report suitable for sharing with schools, procurement departments, venture capitalists, investors, or educational authorities such as Ministries of Education. Check out the case studies and example reports here.

Get Evidence-Ready®

WiKIT’s flagship service “Get Evidence-Ready provides ESSA Tier IV-aligned Research/Impact Ready Audit and Logic Model, with additional benefits such as an expert product review with product feedback and creation of your research library. Our specially trained PhD researchers validate your product and independently verify its scientific base. We provide you with greater visibility with schools through our partners and a report you can share with schools/parents, investors or procurement teams.

Understand Your Impact

Through workshops and systematic product and programs’ review, our researchers will establish the impact challenges your organisation addresses, uncover user needs, and evaluate how you addresses them. Working closely with your leadership team, we refine your Theory of Change, map your evidence base, assess its strength against international EdTech impact standards, and conduct an in-depth literature review. We also assist in developing a data infrastructure plan, guiding you on the next steps for a successful impact journey.

Psychometric Evaluation

Unlike traditional educational resources, EdTech products generate rich, real-time data through user interaction — whether within games, dashboards, adaptive pathways, or digital books. However, for this data to meaningfully measure learning outcomes, the underlying assessment mechanisms must be psychometrically sound. Without validation, usage data may reflect engagement rather than reliable indicators of learning.

We provide rigorous psychometric validation of the quizzes, embedded assessments, and evaluation components within any EdTech product. Our work ensures that instruments are valid (measuring what they intend to measure), reliable (producing consistent results), and appropriate for the intended population and context of use. This may include item analysis, scale validation, reliability testing, construct alignment, and calibration against established benchmarks.

A defining feature of our approach is that every project integrates both subject-matter expertise and advanced psychometric training. We assemble teams accordingly: subject-matter experts are selected from our global network of over 1,200 learning scientists, while psychometric oversight is provided by our in-house specialists. When additional capacity is required, we extend our in-house psychometric team through trusted partners at preferential rates (eg Instructure, USA).

Case Study 1

Pickatale’s speech and recognition features needed a psychometric evaluations of all text passages to ensure they measured what they should.

Final app became finalist for BESA Awards for Evidence in Impact in 2015.

Report

Psychometric evaluation can seem complex, yet it is essential for ensuring that EdTech tools genuinely measure learning. This report breaks down the core concepts into clear, practical language tailored specifically for EdTech organisations. Download here.
