Onebillion Impact Report 2025

Synopsis

This study reviewed and evaluated the impact of onecourse by onebillion using the 5Es Impact framework—Efficacy, Effectiveness, Equity, Ethics, and Environment. Evidence from 18 studies showed that onecourse was an effective, scalable EdTech solution that improved foundational learning in low-income settings and was feasible to implement with good pedagogy. It promoted educational equity by supporting inclusive learning for girls, boys, multilingual children, and those with special educational needs. The intervention aligned with rights-based education policies, supporting its ethical use. The review also identified evidence gaps for future research. Findings suggested that onecourse should be integrated into national education policies, especially in underserved regions, and used by teachers as a supplementary tool in early grades. Continued implementation research was recommended to guide effective scaling and digital learning practices.
